Hello from Bali!
New YouTube video!
This has been one of my favorites to film.
I think it’s my best video yet.
Life is incredibly fragile.
You may have a whole plan for your next 5 years. But, life may have other plans and there is nothing you can do.
All it takes is a matter of seconds, and the course of your entire life can change.
But, this fragility is what makes life special.
You have no clue how you and your loved ones will (or where ) be in 24 hours.
Take each moment in. Enjoy it.
Life holds no guarantee. Embrace it. Leave some space for things to happen. Don’t be to rigid.
So make your plans, dream your dreams, but keep your heart open to the possibility that life might have even better things in store than the ones you've imagined.
Because sometimes the most beautiful chapters of our lives are the ones we never planned for.
📚 Book I read and recommendations
A couple of weeks ago, I emailed Derek Sivers to ask if I could be added to nownownow.com. I also took that opportunity to tell him how much I liked his other book, How to Live. He replied to the email, and he kindly gifted me his other book, Useful not True. After reading it, I thought it was great. I think it’s a message that many of us need to hear. Like any other Derek Sivers book, Useful not True is short, straight to the point, and has a valuable lesson per chapter. This book's main message is that almost everything we say is “true” and subjective opinions by others. So, we should pick beliefs, ideas, or perspectives that improve or positively affect our lives.
How to Tell a Story by Meg Bowles is a great book for everyone, not only storytellers. It guides you through the process of discovering and telling your story. I followed the process in this book to make my latest YouTube video! Apart from being very useful, it was also a fun read. However, if you want to write fiction, this book isn't for you.
A Life on Earth by David Attenborough is one of those books I’d love to memorize and just be able to drop random facts about. Imagine someone asking you to say a fun fact, and you say that some birds sit on ants, bees, or wasps for personal hygiene. I highly recommend reading the audiobook; it has sound effects that make the experience ten times better. David Attenborough is great!
